Our Doctrine

I. The Bible
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, His revelation to man, inerrant in its original writing. (2 Tim. 3:16,17)
II. The Godhead
The Godhead is one God, eternally existing in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Matt. 28:19; John 14:16; 2 Cor. 13:14)
III. The Lord Jesus Christ
1. Was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, Mary, and that in His incarnation is true God and true man, that he died for our sins, arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven; and is our divine advocate with the Father. (John 1:1-9; Heb. 7:25; 8:1; I John 2:1)
2. His personal, premillennial, and imminent return is the blessed hope of the believer. (I Thess. 4:13-18; I Cor. 15:51-53)
IV. The Holy Spirit
Is a person, that His manifestation on the day of Pentecost was the origin of the Church, that He convicts the world of sin, that He regenerates the sinner, that He indwells the child of God who is exhorted to be filled with the Spirit. (John 16:7-15; Acts 2:1-4; Eph. 5:18)
V. Man
Was created in the image and likeness of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred physical and spiritual death; and that all men are born totally depraved, and must be born again to be accepted of God. (Rom. 5:12; Eph. 2:1-10; John 3:1-21; Gen. 1:26)
VI. Salvation
Is possible only through the death of our Lord Jesus Christ as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are freely justified on the ground of His shed blood, and are born again by the Holy Spirit, and thereby become children of God; and that by regeneration (new birth) are made members of the body of Christ which is the true church, and into possession of eternal life. (I Cor. 15:1-4; Heb. 9:22; John 10:28-30)
VII. Separation
As taught in the Scriptures is incumbent upon believers to live lives not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. The flesh being with us to the end of our earthly pilgrimage needs to be kept constantly in subjection to Christ. Failure in this subjection will surely manifest its presence in the dishonor of His name. (2 Cor. 6:14-7:1; John 15:1-27; I John 2:15-17)
VIII. The Future State of the Just and Unjust
The souls of those who have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation do at death immediately pass into His presence, and there remain in conscious bliss until the resurrection of the body at His coming, when soul and body reunited shall stand before Him at the Judgment Seat of Christ, and shall be associated with Him forever in the glory; but the souls of the unbelievers remain after death in conscious misery until the final judgment of the Great White Throne at the close of the Millennium, when soul and body reunited shall be cast into the lake of fire, not to be annihilated, but to be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power. (2 Cor. 5:6-10; I Thess. 4:15-17; John 5:27-29; Luke 16:19-31; Rev. 20:10-15)
IX. The Devil or Satan
Is a personal being, the prince of the demons, the great enticer and deceiver, the god of this age, whose end is the lake of fire. (2 Cor. 4:3-4; Eph. 2:2; Rev. 20:10)
X. The Church
1. Is the Body and Bride of Christ and is composed of all who are united by the Holy Spirit to the risen and ascended Son of God. (Eph. 1:22,23; 5:25-27; I Cor. 12:13)
2. Baptism (by immersion) has no saving merit, but follows salvation as a sign of identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. It is a testimony to newness of life. (Matt. 28:19-20; Rom. 6:3-11)
3. The Lord’s Supper has no saving merit, but is commemorative and is observed as a memorial of the broken body and shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ until His second advent. (Acts 2:42; 20:7; I Cor. 11:20-34; Luke 22:14-20)
4. The gospel should be proclaimed by every believer, and should reach every creature in all nations throughout all of the world. (Matt. 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 8:1,4; I Cor. 15:1-4; Rom. 1:16)
5. Spiritual oneness is the inward unity of the heart and soul of all believers produced by the Holy Spirit. (John 17:11, 20-23; Eph. 3:6) and is manifested in outward agreement. (Phil. 2:2; Rom. 12:16; 15:5,6)
